The light of Christ reached the Radhapuram village before the freedom of our country itself. This village was the substation of vadakangulam parish which is the mother parish of this region, afterwards when Idinthakarai is promoted as a parish Radhapuram become the substation of Idinthakarai parish, then it become the substation of Duraikudiirrupu.

On 15-07-2004 Radhapuram is promoted as a Parish of Tuticorin diocese by The Most Rev. Bishop Peter Fernando. The substations of Radhapuram parish are ,

Rev. Fr. Irudayaraja (2004-2006) was the first priest of this parish.
